Some of our most productive and interesting conversations have come from open threads where almost anything goes. Speaker's Corner is a topic that is dedicated to open-conversation about almost anything that's on your mind.
The real Speaker's Corner is located in the north-east corner of London's Hyde Park where public speaking is allowed. There is no immunity from the law at speaker's corner, and while the police tend to be tolerant, they do not allow profanity or unlawful behavior.
You may be jeered, ridiculed, enthusiastically supported, or completely ignored.
Now, what's on your mind?
First Impressions...My wife and I went to Mt. Zion middle school Saturday to see Governor Pat Quinn...
My first impression is: Pretty good!
He seems very genuine, and I'm very pleased to report he has a very keen interest in re-opening our State Parks....
Also – Thanks to CONO for inviting me to their Decatur City Council Candidates Forum on February 24, at 7pm at the Decatur Public Library. I'm not sure what the format is going to be, but I'd guess we'll be asked questions about where we stand on neighborhood issues.
There was a meeting of the Macon County Democrats last night that I didn’t make. I don’t know if it was talked about, but I heard the Decatur Township Democrats objections are scheduled to be heard Wednesday morning.
Even worse, it’s looking like we may not get to the City Council Meeting tonight, either – or if we do at all, it’s pretty safe to say we’ll be late (not the Royal “We”…I’ll bring my wife!)….
It all hinges on how early I’m able to finish up at work and how long the council meeting lasts…

So far, so good!
