Tim Johnson, on the other hand, is a prime Tea Party target. He’s low profile, he’s a “good soldier” - I think for the most part he votes the way he’s told by the party leaders – and he’s broken his promise to the people (as so many other of the Republicans voted in to office in 2000 did) to serve only 3 terms in Congress. Add to this the relatively poor showing (in my opinion) Johnson managed against the last two poorly-funded Democratic candidates, and I think he’s vulnerable - If the Tea Party “put’s up” and runs someone against him.
