Some of our most productive and interesting conversations have come from open threads where almost anything goes. Speaker's Corner is a topic that is dedicated to open-conversation about almost anything that's on your mind.
The real Speaker's Corner is located in the north-east corner of London's Hyde Park where public speaking is allowed. There is no immunity from the law at speaker's corner, and while the police tend to be tolerant, they do not allow profanity or unlawful behavior. You may be jeered, ridiculed, enthusiastically supported, or completely ignored. Now, what's on your mind?

The website had a strange hiccup yesterday…For some reason the network connection between the server and the basement router had a problem that I didn’t notice until lunchtime (when I was at work).
I shot down to the basement fully expecting to find a smoldering hard drive, or (another) melted power supply, or any of half a dozen other mini-disasters I’d worked out contingencies for through the course of the afternoon, and found…Nothing!   I logged in, I rebooted the little Linux box, and viola(!) it was all better! From what I can tell, the router had a little blip (sunspots? Solar flares? Ghosts?) that scrambled network communication on one leg of the network…
So, to all who couldn’t get to the site yesterday…That’s the story…We’re back now!
